jose villa workshop

i am a HUGE, HUGE Jose Villa fan, and i got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend his amazing workshop in California last week. Suffice it to say, he is a creative GENIUS - his talent will blow you away. And he is such a kind person - I think he has no idea what a SUPERSTAR he is!

so i shot my first roll of film ever, and here they are! these are straight out of the camera, no photoshop at all (keep in mind that these are scans):

I'll share more about my California adventure later, but right now I have to get crack-a-lackin!

Digital or film -- you rock Anna! These are gorgeous! Some days, I would love to shoot film and not have to process in photoshop. (And I am also a huge fan of Jose Villa - lucky you for attending the workshop)

These images are breathtaking!!! Too bad you had to scan them, I would love to see them in person :) What a great experience you had in Cali...I am glad it was a worthwhile endeavor. I hope the switch to film is a good one for you. I think we are all going to go into withdrawl from your photoshoping days though. :(

That's it! I'm going back to medium format. These are gorgeous!!! See you can not produce that color, and glow with digital. I can't anyway. What a neat experience. I met Jose at WPPI. He was such cool guy! Oh I'm so jealous!!

Thanks so much, friends! No, I'm not switching to film *yet* - I loved trying it out, though. That was my first time, so now I feel I can legitimately call myself a "photographer" =)
